Baked Oatmeal Squares
Ingredients:
1/3 cup vegetable oil or applesauce
1/2 cup sugar
1 large egg or equivalent egg substitute
2 cups oatmeal
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup milk or skim milk
fruit or chocolate chips, if desired
Directions:
Stir together the oil or applesuce, sugar and egg.
In a separate bowl combine the oats, salt and baking powder.
Add the milk and combine both ingredients gently fold until thoroughly mixed.
Add your choice of fruit or chocolate chips if desired and pour into a greased square 8" dish.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes. Cut into squares for serving

sounds similar to my recipe -- never thought of adding chocolate chips! Does your recipe make thick, cake-like squares, or thinner, more dense squares?
